Goldner Hawn Recruits Three New Investment Team Members

Goldner Hawn is pleased to announce the recent addition of Carlton Ogata as Analyst on the firm’s investment team. Carlton provides additional depth to the hires of Associates Nick Leisen and Steve Heron earlier this year. All three are responsible for performing analysis and due diligence on new investment opportunities for the firm. They are also integrally involved as members of portfolio company deal teams in the management of the firm’s investments.

Carlton joins Goldner Hawn as an Analyst and previously worked at Cherry Tree & Associates, a Minneapolis-based investment banking firm. Prior to that, he was a summer analyst at LLR Partners, a Philadelphia-based private equity firm. Carlton is a graduate of Winona State University.

Steve joined Goldner Hawn as an Associate in April. He was previously at Northwestern Mutual Capital, based in Milwaukee, WI, where he worked in private debt and equity co-investments. Steve is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin.

Nick joined Goldner Hawn as an Associate in January. He was previously at Enhanced Healthcare Partners, a healthcare-focused private equity firm based in Los Angeles, CA. Prior to that, he was with Triple Tree, a healthcare-focused investment bank in Minneapolis, MN. Nick is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame.

Recently, Goldner Hawn announced the closing of its eighth investment fund (the “Fund” or “Fund VIII”), with approximately $364 million in capital commitments (including from the general partner of the Fund). Consistent with prior funds, Fund VIII will target investment opportunities in specialty manufacturing, value-added distribution, and business and consumer services sectors across North America.

To date, Goldner Hawn has completed four portfolio company investments and supported nine add-on acquisitions in Fund VIII. Goldner Hawn is currently seeking new platform company investments and add-on acquisition opportunities in the lower middle market. The firm is led by partners Jason Brass, Chad Cornell, Joe Heinen, Pete Settle, and Andrew Tomashek.
